Bhubneshwar: Students have urged the Odisha government to change the date for the preliminary exam of Odisha Civil Services (OCSE) as it was was clashing with Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019.
Why Students want change in date ?
According to some students, the date for the CAT exam were announced much before the OCSE and this point should have been kept in mind by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). Some of the students were of the view that there are candidates who prepare for both the exams.
Govt unlikely to change date of exam
According to a senior official of OPSC, initially the exam was scheduled to take place on October 28, 2018 and the date was changed to November 25 after some students requested the commission to give them more time to prepare for the exam.
Meanwhile, Ashok Meena, secretary of General Administration, which is responsible for training, recruitment and placement of government officials was of the view that the exam has already been rescheduled and delay in conducting the exam this year will affect the process next year also. He added that it was unlikely that the dates will be changes merely because few students want to appear for CAT 2019.
