Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the exam pattern and marking scheme for class 10 English Communicative paper. The authorities will conduct the class 10 board examination tentatively in March 2019. Knowing the exam pattern and marking scheme of English Communicative paper will help candidates to prepare for the entrance examination in a better way.
Not only this, being well-versed with exam pattern will enable candidates to strategize their board exam preparation. According to the released exam pattern by CBSE, the question paper of English Communicative will consist of 3 sections- Reading, Writing & Grammar, and Literature. Moreover, the question paper will be of 80 marks in total.
This is What All Section Will Carry
Section A will be of reading which will consist of 20 marks. This section will carry two passages., one for 8 marks and another one for 12 marks. With the help of this section authorities will test the ability of student to read and understand a passage & answer questions based on it. So, in this section, candidates will have to read the passage carefully and grasp the main theme of it so that they can answer the questions based on it.
Section B, will consist of Writing and Grammar part of 30 marks. In this section there will be total of 5 questions. Two questions will cover the writing part while remaining three will test the grammar of the student. The writing part will consist of 18 marks, whereas, grammar will be of 12 marks.
Talking about the questions it will consist, the writing part will have essay/letter writing while other part will carry fill in the blanks, omission type questions, sentence re-arrangement etc.
The last section C will be of Literature that will carry total of 30 marks. This section will have four multiple choice questions which will have options which candidates need to choose. The literature section will consist of question from poems, stories and prescribed texts.
