NEW DELHI, October 11: RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) has postpones its Group D exams which were scheduled for October 11, and 12 in some of the exam centres under the threat of cyclone Titli.
A daily reported the announcement made by the chairman of RRB, Bhubaneshwar regarding the postponement of the exam. As per the announcement, applicants whose exam centre was in Bhubaneswar, Cuttak, Dhenkanal, Khudra and Behrampur will not be giving their exam on the designated date. However, exams in Balasore and Rourkela will be conducted as per the schedule.
HR Biswas, director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneshwar said to PTI concerning cyclone Titli: “Titli is very likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next twenty four hours. It is very likely to move northwestwards from tonight and cross Odish and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts beween Golpapur and Kaningapatnam around Thursday”.
Amidst the cyclone, red alert has been issued by the state government till October 10. As per the reports cyclone Titli originated Bay of Bengal as a deep depression which escalated to a cyclone and headed towards the coasts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coast.
Applicants whose exam has been postponed should check the official website of RRB for any further announcement regarding the exam (rrbcdg.gov.in). As for now, no announcement has been made by the board other than the postponement of exam.
