Maharashtra State Board to have Multiple Choice Questions from 2019


The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education (MSBSHSE) from 2019 on wards will have objective question paper for Class 12 or Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. Candidates who are studying Physics, Chemistry Biology and Mathematics, they would have to answer multiple choice questions.

Objective of having MCQ At Class XII level 

According to Krishnakumar Patil, additional divisional chairman of the Mumbai division, MSBSHSE, the decision has been taken to benefit the students as it will help them to prepare well for other competitive exams

The other aim is to prepare the students well for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) – Main.

Change in Exam Pattern 

The change  in the exam pattern for class XII board exam was proposed by  Council of Boards of School Education. It is mandatory for the students who appear in the class XII exams  to answer the multiple choice questions.

As per the new exam pattern that has been issued by the MSBSHSE, Chemistry and Physics paper will be of 70 marks each. The MCQ will be of four marks (four questions will be of one mark).

The biology paper will also be of 70 marks and there will eight marks for MCQs( eight questions for one mark each). The mathematics and statistics MCQ will be of six marks for six questions.

Calculators will not be permitted in the exam hall.
