BHUBNESHWAR: The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2018 entrance exam has been cancelled after the question paper leaked on the social media platforms ahead of the test. Board of Secondary Education Odisha (BSEO) has ordered probe into the matter.
Ahead of the OTET 2018, images of the the question paper were circulated in various social media platform. The incident took place when the shift I paper of OTET 2018 was being conducted. After the conclusion of the exam, the candidates who appeared in OTET 2018, confirmed that the leaked question paper was similar to that for which they had appeared.
The authorities are yet to announce the new dates for the OTET 2018. More than one lakh candidates were scheduled to appear in the entrance exam. According to sources, there will be no change in the exam pattern of OTET when it will be re-conducted.
Schedule of OTET 2018
OTET 2018 was supposed to be held on January 16. The exam was to be conducted in two shifts. The first shift exam was to take place from 10:30 A.M while the second shift was to be held from 2:00 p.m to 4:30 p.m. After the conclusion of the first shift exam, the authorities announced that the exam for both the shifts has been cancelled owing to the leakage of the question paper.
OTET is the entrance exam which the candidates have to clear if they wish to be eligible to apply for the post of teacher in government, semi-government and private schools.
