QS BRICS University Ranking 2019: IIT, Bombay and IISc Among top 10


NEW DELIHI: The QS BRICS University ranking for top universities in BRICS nations 2019 is out. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay secured 8th position while IISc, Bangalore secured the 10th position. Tsinghua University from China topped the list along with 7 other Chinese universities making the list. Students can check the list at- topuniversities.com.

The top 10 universities in BRICS nation as per the QS ranking are as follows:

QS BRICS University Ranking Methodology

QS, judges each of the universities under consideration using 8 indicators being: Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Faculty-student ratio, Staff with Ph.D, papers per faculty, Citations Per-Paper, International Students and International Faculty. Each of these indicators, carry a specific percentage of marks out of 100% total. Find the percentage of each of these indicators in following section.

QS, an education based company began its BRICS top university list of countries in BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in 2003. A couple days earlier QS has released its Indian university ranking for the first time where IIT, Bombay secured the top place while IISc, Bangalore came in second position.
