NEW DELHI: The QS or Quacquarelli Symonds, has released its Indian University Ranking for 2019. It is the first time a separate list top 75 universities in India has been published by the UK based company.
At the top of the list is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay with highest academic and employer reputation scores.Whereas, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) secured the second position which sored the highest in papers per faculty and staff with Ph.D.

QS India University Ranking 2019 Methodology

- Academic Reputation- Weightage 30%
- Employer Reputatio- Weightage 20%
- Faculty-Student Ratio- Weighage 20%
- Staff With Ph.D- Weightage 10%
- Papers per Faculty- Weightage 10%
- Citations Per Paper- 5%
- International Faculty- 2.5%
- International Students- 2.5%
QS began releasing its University Ranking for BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in 2003 with the aim to track progress in education and education institutes in the five countries.
